Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) is a specialized modality that combines the use of a psychedelic substance (such as psilocybin, MDMA, or ketamine) with professional psychotherapeutic support. It is not a "magic pill" but rather a "catalyst" that can lower psychological defenses, increase neuroplasticity, and allow individuals to revisit deep-seated traumas or patterns with a sense of safety and new perspective.

The goal is to move from a rigid, "stuck" mindset into a state of psychological flexibility, often fostering a deep sense of connectedness and self-compassion. We charge $2,900 per journey, which includes 2 preparation, 1 administration, and 2 integration sessions. Please contact us for more information on psychedelic-assisted therapy.

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

Unlike traditional therapy which follows a continuous weekly flow, PAT is typically structured into three distinct phases to ensure safety and clinical efficacy.

Preparation: Before any medicine is administered, you and your therapist build trust and "set the stage." You discuss your history, address safety concerns, and develop coping strategies for the journey ahead.

The Dosing Session: The "medicine session" itself. In a comfortable, living-room-like setting, you take the substance under supervision. This is where the peak experience occurs.

Integration: The most critical phase. In the days and weeks following, you work with your therapist to make sense of the experience and translate abstract insights into concrete, lasting changes in your daily life.

The Three Pillars of the PAT Process

Core Concepts & Tools Used in Sessions

The therapeutic approach in PAT is often "non-directive," meaning the therapist supports your internal process rather than leading it.

1. Set and Setting
This is the foundational rule of psychedelic work.

Set (Mindset): Your internal state—your expectations, mood, and intentions. During prep, therapists help you cultivate a "Beginner’s Mind" and an attitude of openness.

Setting: The external environment. To minimize anxiety, sessions take place in a soothing, private space with comfortable furniture, soft lighting, and often a curated musical playlist.

2. Inner Healing Intelligence
A central tenet of PAT is that the mind, like the body, has an innate capacity to heal itself if given the right conditions.

How it’s used: During a dosing session, if you encounter something scary or difficult, the therapist won't try to "fix" it for you. Instead, they encourage you to "stay with it" or "go through the door," trusting that your own mind is surfacing what needs to be healed.

The Goal: To empower you as the primary agent of your own recovery.

3. The "Safe Container" (Non-Directive Support)
During the 6–8 hour dosing session, the therapist serves as a "witness" and a "grounding anchor."

How it’s used: You may wear an eye mask and headphones to focus inward. The therapist stays present, offering quiet support, a hand to hold if you feel overwhelmed, or a listening ear if you need to speak. They ensure you are physically safe and emotionally supported without interfering with the "unfolding" of the experience.

Somatic Anchoring:

Therapists may help you reconnect with a specific physical feeling of peace or strength felt during the journey, teaching you how to "call it back up" when you feel stressed in the future.

Narrative Weaving:

Psychedelic experiences can be "ineffable" (hard to put into words) or surreal. Your therapist helps you turn those images and feelings into a meaningful story that makes sense for your life.

Many integration sessions use creative tools like journaling, drawing, or sand tray therapy to capture the abstract epiphanies of the dosing day.

Integration & action:

Insight without action is just a dream. You and your therapist identify small, sustainable behavioral changes—like a new mindfulness habit or a change in a relationship boundary—to "anchor" the experience.
